Reclaimed Railcar Planks

RAILCAR PLANKS

Gallery Rail Car PlanksThese are flooring planks RECLAIMED from decommissioned railcars from the 1920’s – 1940’s. This AMAZING reclaimed wood has traveled the rails of America for decades and wears the story of its life on its surface. They have a rich color and beautiful character marks as well as natural distressing that many try to replicate. These Hardwood planks are constructed in butcher block style that makes the wood very stable and prevents bowing and cupping.

Each plank is 12″ wide x 2 1/4″ thick and approximately 8 feet long – the entire length of the board is tongue on one side and grooved on the other side and weighs nearly 9 lbs per Sq ft. The planks are all hardwood and are primarily Oak or Maple but we also receive some Hickory and Mahogany occasionally.

This wood is extremely easy to work with and used for many Interior Design applications such as Kitchen Countertops, Kitchen Center Islands, Indoor and Outdoor Bar tops, Fireplace Mantels, and Stair Treads. There are also a host of furniture applications including Dining Tables, Dining Table Benches, Coffee Tables, End Tables, and Console Tables.

The cost for these planks is $275 – $325 per 8′ plank.
